Bhuall "BN" Nandkumar

BN began this path as an educator at the young age of 15 as a student teacher at the Lancaster Primary School, pursuing his teacher training and then moving to teaching secondary school at Cove and John, Mahaicony Secondary and Bygeval Multilateral. He also molded the minds of many young teachers at the Inservice training college.

He migrated to the USA 42 years ago to pursue the greatest love of his life (his wife), and to complete his education and attaining both a Masters of Science and a Ph’d. He continued his teaching career in various colleges and universities in NY including Wagner College, NYIT, Dowling College, Hofstra University, St Joseph etc. and finally retired in 2020 after more than 55 years as an educator.

BN and Padma created a beautiful life and were blessed and honored to nurture their children Preeya and Anil and son in law Wilfred and family dog, Diva. They relocated to Orlando after retirement and being an avid gardener BN cultivated a bountiful vegetable garden. However, his failing heart began to impact his health and after several admissions to the hospital in the last few years he succumbed last week at his home in Orlando, Florida surrounded by his loving family.

It has to be noted that BN, by virtue of his contribution and passion as an educator will be remembered for the positive and lasting impact he made in the lives of so many students. He was respected, adored and held in the highest regards within the Deokaran family and his passing leaves us all heartbroken.

The memories he created will be lasting within the hearts of our family.

A visitation for BN will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 22439 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, New York 11428. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The cremation will follow at All Souls Chapel and Crematory, 72-02 Astoria Blvd S, East Elmhurst, NY 11370.
