I am so thankful that I was able to keep in touch with Evelyn every week through FaceTime. We laughed, we talked about all sorts of things our kids, our pets, and even the color of our hair! I look forward to these weekly conversations with her, I am thankful that I was able to say my goodbyes to her the day before she passed away. This gave me peace. I will miss you Evelyn. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Dear Uncle Al and Christine,

My heart is with you during this painful time. Thank you both for always taking care of Aunt Evelyn. You were her world, and although her suffering has come to an end, I recognize that your suffering is ongoing and I'm so sorry. I hope that time will help you begin to heal, and that the memories of happier, simpler times will comfort you. Hopefully someday, you'll both be able to smile through your tears when you think of the loving wife and mother that she was. For now, know that I join you in mourning the loss of a truly gentle, loving, kind soul. 

I have fond memories of our family vacations in Lancaster, as well your visits Upstate and our visits Downstate. I only wish that there could have been more of them. I'll always remember the way that she and my mom would get lost in conversation, often reminiscing about their parents, and brother, and family pets. And, I'll remember the way that Uncle Al looked after Aunt Evelyn, opening car doors and getting her tea or anything that she needed. And, I'll remember how proud she always was of Christine and her musical and academic achievements. 

Aunt Evelyn was steadfast in her faith, and I wish for both of you that you may find peace like I know that she has found. I'm sorry that I can't be there to help to support you as you find your way forward without Aunt Evelyn. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you ever need an understanding ear.
