Dr. Frantzie Marie Balmir was born on May 12, 1963 to Augusta and Frantz Balmir in Port Au Prince, Haiti. Frantzie immigrated to the United States on December 1975 with her three siblings. From a young age Frantzie always wanted to be a physician and was inspired by her uncle Dr. Serge Balmir and great cousin Dr. Harry Borno.
Frantzie always excelled scholastically. She graduated from Meyer Levine Jr. High School in 1978 and Clara Barton High School in 1981. Frantzie attended Helene Fuld School of Nursing and also graduated from Brooklyn College where she majored in Biology and chemistry. She went on to teach at Long Island University and there received a Masters in Physiology.
Frantzie was also surprisingly adventurous and was in the army reserve for many years. Frantzie then returned to pursuing her dream of becoming a physician. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana where she received her medical degree and her PhD. Frantzie went on to practice family medicine.
Frantzie met her husband Lyonel Beauvais and the two were married in August of 1997. In January of 2000 they were blessed with a son Erik Nicholas. Frantzie loved to travel and was able to do that with her family.
Most people who meet Frantzie usually come away with the same thought that is her love for people and her desire to help. Frantzie lived by the motto “treat others as you would want them to treat you.
Frantzie is survived by her loving husband Lyonel, son Erik, parents Frantz and Augusta Balmir, siblings Marie Chantal Giordani, Magalie Bowen, Reginald Adam, Sandra Balmir and Doris Dorilas. Nieces and Nephews, Shandarah Banjo, Eugene Giordani IV, Savannah Bowen, Averie Bowen, Vanlee B. Adam, Gabrielle Bowen, Rubens Adam, Reginal Adam and great niece Samiah Banjo.

Broken Chain
We little knew the day that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you
but you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories.
Your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one
the chain will link again.
