Guy Dupoux was born on October 2, 1944, to Antony and Roberte Dupoux in Jérémie, Haiti. He was the youngest of three children, with siblings Serge and Colette. At the age of 19 he moved away from Jérémie to the capital city of Port-Au-Prince to complete his education.
-
Amidst tumultuous political instability, Guy’s immediate family left Haiti in the 1960s, and immigrated to the United States settling in Queens, New York.
-
Guy attended RCA Institute, and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering. He then decided to pursue a career in Banking for over 20 years until his retirement at the age of 56 in the year 2000.
-
In 1969, Guy married Yanick Morisset. Guy and Yanick started a family in 1972 with their son Guy Jr. and in 1975, their second son Didier was born. Didi was born with Cerebral Palsy, and required around the clock care. Guy devoted his life to Didi, and made sure that he never lacked anything to live a full life.
Guy and his family made their home in Baldwin, New York since 1978 to the present.
-
Guy was a devoted husband, father, a loving, charming, compassionate, and caring man. His family and friends meant the world to him, and he would do anything for them. His infectious smile and passionate spirit will be sorely missed.
-

-Remember me in quiet days, while
raindrops whisper on your pane.
But in your memories have no grief, let
the joy we knew remain.
Remember me when evening stars,
look down on you with steadfast eyes.
Remember me if once you wake, to
catch a glimpse of red sunrise.
And when your thoughts do turn to me,
know that I would not have you cry,
But live for me, and laugh for me,
when you are happy so am I.
Remember an old joke we shared,
remember me when Spring walks by,
Think once of me when you are glad,
and while you live I shall not die.
