Hector Luis Velez

Hector Luis Vélez Sr., age 62 of Queens Village, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. He was born on May 24, 1961 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Joaquín Antonio Vélez and Gloria Minerva Vélez López.

Hector was a beloved husband, father, brother and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Olga and two children Hector Jr. and Amanda. He was the 9th child out of 11 and the youngest brother. Hector always put family first and served as a father figure to many of his nieces and nephews whom he loved immensely. He will be lovingly and deeply missed by his sisters and multiple generations of nieces and nephews.

Hector lived his life the way he wanted. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing dominoes, cooking, fishing, hanging out in the bocce court, and participating in an annual NFL pool. His presence, guidance and contagious laughter will be missed tremendously, but will live forever in the hearts of his loved ones.

A visitation for Hector will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428, followed by a visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
