I am saddened and completely consumed with grief with the death of my mother. As many of you may know my mom was fighting cancer since the diagnosis in late February. She passed peacefully on June 14th, at 12:30 am with all of her children by her bedside. She wanted her journey to end at her home facing our gods where she spent the majority of her time in recent years. We concluded the last part of her journey on June 15th  at 9:00 AM at the All Souls Crematorium in Elmhurst Queens. 

The last two and a half months mom suffered too much from the pain caused by her cancer; she was at ease for the last 5 hours. I miss her so much as she was a gentle individual with little needs and no demands and the most generous with vast wisdom. She was absolutely the best cook in the world. I miss her calling me “lala”, I miss her scent, mostly I am missing her presence as she seems to have attained moksha already. I will continue to miss her every day of my life but I am so grateful that she was with me for 50 years of my life. Her death made my existence dark, but her memories are giving me clarity and making my life brighter. I am missing her yet I feel her presence in every cell of my body, I know she is in a better place now. Hope to see you when my journey ends. Love you mom, and thank you for being my guide, my advisor, my teacher, my mother, my caretaker, my well-wisher, and a friend.


Mother’s provide their children with so much while they are growing up including a place to call a loving home. I’m reminded to be grateful for the time I have had with my own mother in this life.
 
Our mothers have been such a blessing in our lives, and they will continue to bless us even now and in the future. I will always be your “mooku”, my pet name given by my mother.

Mama you always told me to slow down and enjoy life. I will miss you a lot because you inspired me to live life to the fullest. I will miss your cooking, miss your humor above all miss your smile.

It was an honor to know Madhuri Gupta. She was not only my mother-in-law, but she was like a mother to me. 

Madhuri was Julie's mother and Matt's mother-in-law. We went to Kolkata together in 2015. One of the best moments we spent there took place when we left the city to go to Dakineshwar Kali temple near the River Hooghly. We heard the spiritual music, received prasad from a pundit, visited every shivling, and spent contemplative time with other devotees.

I Thank the supreme one, for his kind grace in giving me a pious, virtuous consort, for 56 years - "the foundation of my life."
Her Love, devotion and sacrifices, made my life very happy, with my wonderful children. I praise her dedication and thank her for making life so pleasant . My gratitude, Thank you Supreme Lord 'Jay Shri Ram'.  

Your memory is my keepsake, with which I will never part.
God has you in his keeping, I have you in my heart.

But, If I got the chance to see you one last time,  I would hug you as tightly as I can, rest my head on your shoulders and cry till my tears run dry.
