

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marie, who left us at 9:51 am on August 20, 2024, surrounded by the loving care of her children Surren, Sheoranie, Fenella and Denise. She was a beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunty, friend, who touched the lives of many with her kindness and light.
Marie was born in Albion, British Guyana to James and Bifia Naidoo, immigrants from Tamil Nadu, India. She spent her childhood on her family farm, playing, learning and making mischief with her 12 siblings, Rintinu, Reenu, Harold, Betty, Pearl, Jessalyn, Arnold, Ronald, Errol, Dato, Ojean and Ray.
On August 5, 1962, Marie married her soulmate, George, beginning a life of learning from each other and the world around them. They forged a relationship grounded in devotion to each other and their family. In 1969, Marie and George began a migration path to a better life in New York City for their children, immediate and extended family. Marie and George's move was an incredible sacrifice that paved the path to the US for all of her family and friends, allowing them to build a happy American life together.
Mi Amor, Mom, Grandma, Grammy, Aunty Esther, she had so many names, lives on in the loving memories of her sons Surren, Robert, and Gregory, daughters Sheoranie, Fenella, Denise and Sandy, grandchildren Diane, Melissa, Veronica, Brandon, Jacob, Sean, Isabella, Sarah and Lily, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters by blood or marriage, nieces and nephews and friends who will miss her infectious laughter and warm spirit.

Mom, your spirit lives on in every memory, every lesson, and every heartbeat; your DNA survives in all of us. We are eternally grateful for your love, and we promise to carry your legacy forward. A visitation for Marie will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A visitation will occur Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A burial will occur Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
