Odette was a courageous and industrious woman. She always encouraged her children to further their education and be self-sufficient. She was a self taught seamstress and a wonderful cook.
In that late 60's and early 70's she would visit her children and grandchildren from Spain and New York and often helped in raising some of her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. Her great granddaughter; who is the apple of her eyes, nicknamed her "Paca" ` which became her favorite moniker until the end of her life.
In 1979, Odette symbolized her love for Jehovah by water baptism and became active in the preaching work. However, for almost a decade she slowed down due to her failing health and spent two and a half years in nursing homes. The last six weeks she spent at the Nesconset Nursing Home with her granddaughter Pascale constantly at her side.
Finally, on January 9, 2013 at 6:25pm with her daughter Marlene and her granddaughters Lisa and Pascale by her side; she took her last breath, and is now resting, awaiting Jehovah's promise of the resurrection.
Odette is survived by all three of her siblings, as well as five children, twenty-one grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
