Rafael Alonso Valdes

Rafael was a resident of Hollis, New York.

Rafael Valdes was a loving husband, a caring father of three, and a proud grandfather to five grandchildren. Originally from Colombia, he came to the United States to serve in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Vietnam. He had a deep passion for chess and achieved the distinction of becoming a Chess Master.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Incarnation Roman Catholic Church, 89-43 Francis Lewis Blvd, Queens Village, NY 11427, US, on April 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Rd, Kew Gardens, NY 11415, US, on April 2, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
