

Raoul was born on March 12, 1930, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He lived a remarkable life defined by education, compassion, dedication to family, and service to others. For more than 64 years, he made New York City his home, primarily residing in Queens Village, where he built a loving family and lasting friendships within the community.
Raoul pursued his medical studies at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), reflecting his lifelong commitment to learning, healing, and academic excellence. He worked for many years with the American Red Cross Blood Bank, where he continued his dedication to helping and caring for others. He also dedicated 30 years of service as a Professor at New York City College of Technology, where he educated, inspired, and mentored countless students. He was deeply respected by colleagues and admired by those whose lives he touched through his wisdom, patience, and encouragement.
Above all, Raoul was a devoted family man and a devout Catholic. He shared 62 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Menela Cyrille, whose memory he cherished deeply following her passing. He was a role model to his children and a true friend to others. His kindness, integrity, and strength left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Raoul is survived by his children, Raoul Cyrille Jr., Marguy Lazard, and Charles Cyrille; his grandchildren, Michael Cyrille, Elise Lazard, Max Cyrille, Eric Lazard, and Alexander Cyrille; and his great-grandchild, Emmanuel Cyrille and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Menela Cyrille; his parents, his brother, Max Cyrille; and his sisters, Georgette Louis and Raymonde Placide.
Raoul’s legacy of love, education, faith, and service will continue to live on through his family, friends, former students, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
