

Robert “Bob” Fagan was born in Brooklyn in 1931 to Edward and Grace (Carlson) Fagan, the last of five children: Edward Jr., Joseph, Mary, and Thomas. Upon graduating from George Washington H.S., Bob worked as a bank teller and then joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving at Camp Lejeune from 1952-54. After an honorable discharge, he became a member of the NYPD and married MaryAnne (Long) Fagan in 1957. Retiring from the NYPD, he worked as a sales rep for Gestetner Corporation in New Jersey, California, and New York City. He enjoyed his second retirement in Florida before moving to Columbus, Ohio, for his final years.
As a teen, Bob worked concession at Ebbetts Field for the Brooklyn Dodgers and remained a lifelong baseball fan of the National League. He was an excellent photographer and loved fishing, golfing, and travel. Bob was a proud Knights of Columbus member and volunteered at several Catholic parishes, communities, and organizations. He is survived by his two children, Kathy Fagan Grandinetti (Philip) of Columbus, OH, Robert Fagan (Vicky) of Rancho Murieta, CA, and one grandson, Jacob Fagan of the Bay Area. Many nieces and nephews also have fond memories of Uncle Bobby. Interment will take place in New York at St. John’s Cemetery, Queens.
