

Edward M.Y. Gee, 98, of Milton, MA passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026. He was the devoted husband of Annie Y. Gee, with whom he shared 75 years of marriage. Loving father of Marvin Gee, his wife Helen and their children Matthew and Meredith, Edmund Gee, Janet Gee and her husband Stephen Nishino, and Sharon Young, her husband William and their daughter Aimee.
Born in 1927 in Taishan, China, Edward was the son of the late Quock Bin Gee and King Sun Gee and brother to the late Mee Tong (Edna) Law. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 10 and settled in the Boston area. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, followed by a 44-year career at Raytheon Company. In 2021 he received the Congressional Gold Medal as recognition for his honorable service as a Chinese-American World War II veteran.
In addition to spending time with his family and caring for their needs, he was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed Chinese opera, photography, and traveling.
Visiting hours and funeral service will be held at the Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by a time of remembrance from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
