

Paul Wai Chu, 75, of West Roxbury Massachusetts, passed away at his home on January 23, 2026. His wife, Betty, daughter Miranda, grandson Liam, son-in-law Adam, brother-in-laws; Tony Lui, and Steve Wong, and sister-in-laws; Maggie Yeung and Ronnie Yeung were with him at the time.
Born on February 23, 1950, to Ming and Sui Yin Chu, Paul was an immigrant and became an American citizen. A proud Army Veteran serving 3 years. He was drafted after his first year of college from Boston State College and spent time stationed in Germany. He then traveled back home and met the love of his life, Betty Yeung. Married and together for 42 years, they shared countless memories together, some of his favorite times being on a cruise visiting the Caribbean Islands. He spent over 25 years as a dedicated United States Postal Statistics Programer, and a brief time as a restaurant owner. Outside of work, he loved meeting new people, his early morning coffee with the news channel on, people watching from his recliner, and cheering on Boston sports teams. Near the end of 2024, he was diagnosed with liver cancer. After undergoing chemotherapy, he ultimately lost his battle. He’s as strong as they come and fought to the very end.
Paul was a devoted provider to his wife and children. He taught them work ethics of integrity and honesty. He was also a caring sibling to his three brothers; Eugene Chu, Albert Chu, William Chu and two sisters; Linda Chu-Mei and Bernadette Chu-Elalami. He was most proud of his grandchildren, the joy and peace his grandchildren filled him with was astronomical. He had a dry sense of humor that will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife; Betty Chu, his son and daughter-in-law; Alexander Chu and Sarah Chu, daughter and son-in-law; Miranda Chu-Keller and Adam Keller, and his three grandchildren; Preston Chu, Alana Chu, and Liam Keller.
Visiting hours and funeral will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 9:00–11:00 AM at Deware Funeral Home in Quincy, followed by a procession at Forest Hills Cemetery. There will be a lunch reception held immediately afterwards.
