

Mrs. Betty Harrell Jackson, of 917 East Prospect Avenue, died peacefully in her home on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the age of 64. Mrs. Jackson was born in Moore County on September 30, 1946. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Edgar Harrell, Sr, a sister, Linda Reams, and three brothers, Jimmie Harrell, Michael Harrell, and Willie Harrell, Jr. She was a member of Raeford First Baptist Church and Raeford Order of the Eastern Star where she served in many capacities in the local, district and state levels. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was on the Arts Council. Betty was very talented as an artist. She had a great passion for arts and crafts, leading her to open the business 'Candle Stick Crafts' for 25 years. She loved her customers and enjoyed seeing their smiling faces as they would come in her shop. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 25 years, Harold Keith Jackson of the home; two daughters, Cindy Cardman and husband, Wes of VA and Dana Fisher and husband Roy of Beaver Dam; her mother, Minnie T. Harrell of Raeford; a sister, Barbara Mewherter and husband Frankie of Raeford, NC; two grandchildren, Cody and Tabatha Fisher of Beaver Dam, NC; and a loving and faithful friend and caregiver, Helen Dotson of Raeford, NC. The family will receive relatives and friends between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC and other times at the home at 917 E. Prospect Avenue. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Raeford First Baptist Church with Reverend Alan Roberts and Reverend Thomas Lee officiating. Burial will be in Raeford Cemetery.
