Evelyn Harris Russell

She was born in Cumberland County, NC on November 05, 1924, to the late Grover and Eunice Harris.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D.D Russell; a son, Danny Russell; granddaughter, Diane Russell; three brothers, Vernon Harris, Clayton Harris, and Ted Harris; and three sisters, Flora Lillian Lookabill, Yvonne Harris, and Helen Harris.

Evelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raeford. She worked in retail as a clerk, at a daycare center, and most recently, she opened her home to babysit for many children of her church members.

She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Dellinger (Morris), and Jeane Young; grandchildren, Rodney Baker (Tina), Tim Young (Nicole), John Young (Beth), Dana Cribbs (Tony), and Kathy Reul (Chris); step-grandchildren, April Yoder (Eric), and Josh Dellinger; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Raeford.

A service will follow at 2 p.m.

Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.
