Gertrude McKenzie Daniels

Mrs. Gertrude McKenzie Daniels, 91, of Raeford, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Open Arms Retirement Center of Raeford. Mrs. Daniels was born in Hoke County on May 30, 1922, to the late Hugh A. McKenzie and Louella Graham McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry S. Daniels Sr. and David D. Averett and her sons, Harry S. Daniels Jr. and William F. Daniels. She was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church and a honorary lifetime member of the women of the church. Mrs. Daniels is survived by her daughter Judy Daniels Strother and her husband Leland of Raeford, 4 grandchildren, Ashley Daniels Payne (Josh), Amy Strother Harvey (Larry), Graham Strother (Ashley), Kyle Daniels (Heather), 5 great-grandchildren Tyler Payne, Brodie Payne, Laurie Beth Harvey, Lillie Harvey, Kylon Daniels A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Antioch Presbyterian Church with the Rev Dr. David Hudson officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after the service.
