Harry Pink H.P. Walters, Sr.

Mr. Harry Pink (H.P.) Walters, Sr. died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 81. Mr. Walters was born March 6, 1933 in Robeson Co to the late Archie A. and Dora Prevatte Walters. He was also preceded in death by his brother Archie, 4 sisters Evelyn, Gladys, Vera, and Eva. Mr. Walters served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Burlington Industries and Cambridge Arms Apartments before he retired. In his spare time he loved gardening, trying to beat the largest peanut world record. He also loved bowling, and fishing. Mr. Walters was a charter member of Community United Methodist Church, which he helped build, and served as treasurer for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife Betty Jean Walters, a son Harry Walters, Jr. and his wife Barbara, a daughter Melody Causey and her husband Jimmie, 4 grandchildren, Matt, Mallory, Skylar and Savannah, 2 sisters Jimmie Fulk and her husband Waylon and OLee Bowen and her husband Everette. He is also survived by his boxer Brody. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Community United Methodist Church with Reverend Thomas Simpson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after the service in the church fellowship hall.
