Dateline: Fayetteville Mrs. Lucy Mae Ray of 515 Regent Court Fayetteville formerly of Raeford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the age of 66. Lucy was born December 1, 1947 in Pitt County to the late Matt Henry Copper and Martha Hardy Copper. She was employed by Burlington Industries. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband James Ray, Jr. Lucy leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Deborah Collins, 2 sons Timothy Ray, Kenneth Ray, a brother, Ray Copper, 3 sisters, Lena Williamson, Janie Benjamin, Dorothy Harrison, 2 stepsons, Michael Watkins and Wendell Watkins, 6 grandchild, and 1 great-grandchild. Public viewing will be 12-6 pm Friday, September 12, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford, NC. A home going service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Prospect AME Zion Church 15269 NC Hwy N. in Shannon, NC; with the Reverend Larry Lilly officiating. Interment will be in Prospect AME Zion Church Cemetery in Red Springs.
