

Mrs. Mary Ella Stultz, 95, of 1301 E. 4th Ave, Red Springs, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 27, 2013 after an extended illness. Mary Ella was born on April 13, 1918 in Tatum, SC to Alex Matthew Saunders and Lessie Leland Love Saunders. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Red Springs. Always one to help others, she was actively involved in many ministries over the years. Mary Ella was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and a textile worker. Mary Ella is survived by one son-in-law, Mike (Tina) Kirtz of Marion, OH; two grandsons, Jonathan (Emily) Kirtz of Boston, MA, and Stephen Kirtz of Vienna, VA; one "adopted" grandson, Kenneth Sherrill of Red Springs; one sister-in-law, Jane Saunders of Raeford, NC; three nephews, Matt Saunders of Raeford, Jimmy Saunders of Laurinburg, NC, and Drake (Julie) Saunders of Raeford; special cousins Janice (Donald) Parnell and Billy (Barbara) McInnis of Red Springs, and Geraldine (Richard) Mabe of West End, NC. In addition to her parents, Mary Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Claude T. Stultz; one daughter, Sandra Stultz Kirtz; two brothers, Arthur and Robert Saunders; one sister, Ruby Saunders; and one half-sister, Bootsie Kerns. Funeral arrangements are being made by Crumpler Funeral Home in Red Springs. A graveside service will be held at the Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs on Wednesday at 10:00AM with Pastor Bradley Boberg officiating. There will be no visitation.
