Dateline: Shannon Mr. Treatres Hammonds, of Shannon passed away Saturday December 8, 2012 in his home at the age of 64. Mr. Hammonds was born in Robeson County on February 15, 1948 to the late H. P. and Margaret Hammonds. Mr. Hammonds worked as a Roofer before retiring. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Travis Hammonds and Donald Ray Hammonds and a sister, Martha Lee Merritt. His is survived by his wife: Virginia McMillian Hammonds of Shannon; four sons, Danny Ray Hammonds and Travis Hammonds of Lumberton, Mark Hammonds of Oklahoma, Kendrick Hammonds of Asheboro, two step sons, Harold Locklear and Jeff Locklear of Raeford; three daughters, Michelle Hammonds of Asheboro, Vernice Bullard of Lumberton; step daughter, Rose Tyler of Spring Lake, NC; three brothers, Kenneth Hammonds of Lumberton, Glenn Hammonds of Spring Hill, KS, and Ricky Hammonds of Lumberton; four sisters, Betty Rose Kale of Matthews, Valentine Mincey of Norwood, Virginia Wells of Olathe, KS, Alice Knight of Lumberton; one aunt, Doshie Emanuel of Lumberton; and 17 grandchildren. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 East 4th Avenue, Red Springs, NC Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Rennert with Reverend Jimmy Hammonds and Pastor Nick McNeal Officiating.
