Virginia Cole Rainey

Mrs. Virginia Cole Rainey of Raeford passed away peacefully on August 9, 2020 at FirstHealth of the Carolinas at the age of 83. Mrs. Rainey was born in Scotland County on September 25, 1936 to the late Joseph Walker Cole, Sr. and Rosa Clark Cole Williamson. She was preceded in death by her husband Millard Rainey, her granddaughter Jessica Melton and her sister Betty Talbert. Mrs. Rainey was employed with Burlington Industry. She was a member of Raeford First Baptist Church. She is survived by a son Ricky Ward of Raeford, three daughters, Debbie Collins (Brent) of Wingate, NC; Nicole Bell (Rick) of Raeford; Kim Melton (Jeff) of Raeford; 10 grandchildren and 17 ½ great-grandchildren. a brother, Joe (J.W.) Cole (Geneva) of TN and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends between the hours of 10:00am and 6:00pm Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 550 Old Maxton Road, Raeford. A graveside memorial service will be held 10 am Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Raeford Cemetery with Reverend Tom Lee officiating.Please wear a mask and observe social distancing.Memorials may be made to: Hospice Foundation of Hoke County, 336 South Main Street, Raeford, NC. 28376.Services have been entrusted to Crumpler Funeral Home of Raeford.
