Andrea was born in Altoona, PA, and raised in Hollidaysburg, PA. She attended college at Robert Morris Jr. College, now University, in Pittsburgh. In Pittsburgh is where she met her husband, Robert, who she was happily married to for 52 years. In the late 1980’s, Andrea began working for Bank of America as an Executive Assistant, working there until her retirement.
Family was the most important thing to Andrea. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and having the family all together for family traditions. She always put others before herself, and was the glue that held her family together. She was a wonderful caretaker, making sure everyone had what they needed. Through the years, Andrea also fostered her relationships with her girlfriends and cousins, enjoying the time she spent with them as well.
Andrea loved to travel, go shopping, go to the beach, and be out on a boat in the water. She also enjoyed spending time in her yard doing yardwork. When her kids were growing up, she always made it a point to go to all of their sporting and school events, and continued on the tradition by being very involved in her grandchildren’s activities.
Andrea is survived by her son, Robert Burton Carroll Jr and his wife, Elizabeth Harris Carroll; daughter, Emily Carroll Rinker and her husband, Raymond Glenn-Wertz Rinker; grandchildren, Robert Burton Carroll III, Harris Arden Carroll, Sarah Drew Carroll, and Charlotte Ruth Rinker; and brother, Donald Slep and his wife, Elizabeth Slep.
