

Anthony John Iannucci, 70, passed away on November 21, 2016 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on October 10, 1946 in New York City; he was one of eight to Dolores Albelo Iannucci and the late Anthony Iannucci. Anthony graduated from City University of New York with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. After 30+ years in IT, he retired as a Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, with over 25 years at IBM.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends, especially with family dinners, time at the beach, and volunteering at his church to help those in need. He loved his dogs and grand-dogs throughout the years and was known to always have special treats hidden in his pockets. His children fondly remember how active their Dad was as their baseball and softball coach and always having a fun activity planned.
Anthony was preceded in death by his devoted wife: Sandra Bezner Iannucci in 2013 and by his father.
He is survived by his mother; by his children: Anthony Iannucci and wife Lynn, of Florida, David Iannucci and wife Lynn, of Raleigh, and Allison Checkoway and husband Scott, of Raleigh; his grandchildren: Sarah and Ari Josephson, Dylan Iannucci, and Brandon Iannucci; seven siblings: Priscilla Miller, Robert Iannucci, Michael Iannucci, Laura Iannucci, Larry Iannucci, Rosie DiCarlo and Debbie Iannucci; his numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church – 804 High House Road – Cary, NC, with family to receive friends following the service at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary (200 SE Maynard Road). Anthony’s urn will be privately placed next to his late wife at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church Columbarium in Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Anthony’s memory are preferred to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church – 804 High House Road – Cary, NC 27511.
