Barbara Jeanne (Gish) Jameson, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away with family by her side on October 9th, 2025, at age 83. Born in San Bernardino, California, she later resided in Michigan and Iowa before settling in North Carolina for her retirement years.
Barbara graduated from Michigan State University, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. With a propensity for adventure, she enjoyed fast cars and rode full-blooded Arabian horses, known for their spirited, challenging nature. Barbara had a gift of connection; she could strike up a conversation with anyone. Her humor and warmth brightened the lives of all who knew her. Her grandchildren especially delighted in her stories, which were always filled with mischief, laughter, and the unexpected.
She was a successful business owner and an award-winning artist. However, above all, faith and family were most important to her. As she journeyed with Alzheimer's, her family experienced glimpses into her younger years often providing beautiful silver linings. Even in the hardest moments she was loving, gracious, and kind.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, James Jameson of 61 years; children Nancy Jameson and Wendy Bridgham (Chuck); grandchildren, Katherine, Joseph, and Lauren; and brother Rollin Gish, III. She was preceded in death and welcomed into God's house by her parents, sister, and beloved uncle.
