Betty was born December 16, 1927 in Florence, SC to the late Daniel Kirkland Warren and Beulah Gilmore Warren. She was a graduate of Furman University where she received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work. Betty lived in Raleigh, NC for over 42 years and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was employed with the State of North Carolina and Wake County as a social worker.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Samuel Lamar Morgan.
She is survived by her son, Mark W. Morgan and his wife, Christine of Raleigh; sister, Margaret W. Smith and her husband, Jay of Jacksonville, FL; and grandchildren, Brian Scott Morgan; Matthew Nicholas Morgan; and Ashleigh Nicole Morgan.
A service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Historic Oakwood Mausoleum, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27601. The family will receive friends at their home following the service.
