Bruce was a creative entrepreneur and a true visionary. He started his company Hatcher Productions soon after graduation. He worked with NC State University and Jim Valvano for many years and was the promoter that brought many large concerts to Raleigh. Several of those were the Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and The Who. Bruce would later start an environmental company called Mold Id Services which inspected homes for mold and other forms of microbial contamination.
Bruce and Dawn founded Elite Management Professionals, a thriving homeowners associations management company.
Bruce was an advocate for all kids with Type 1 Diabetes. It was discovered when trying to get after school care for their son that the YMCA could not accommodate those with this condition. Bruce filed a claim with the Department of Justice against the YMCA and won which allowed any child with Type 1 Diabetes could go to the YMCA after school program and receive the care and attention needed for this disease.
Bruce was one of a kind and people never forgot meeting him. He always had a joke ready to share and found ways to lighten a room with humor and kindness. He was a dedicated father and husband and would protect family and friends closest to him with every inch of his being.
We will miss him every day and he made the world a better place.
