Clara Ann Gardner Wallis

Clara Ann Gardner Wallis, 89, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord, on February 13, 2011 in Wilmington, NC. She was born on November 7, 1921 in Brunswick, GA to her parents, the late Jack McCreary and Clara Briesenick Gardner.

She is lovingly remembered by her children; Jack B. Wallis of Hawaii, Dr. Richard G. Wallis and his wife Jean of Jacksonville, FL, James W. Wallis of Clinton, SC, Clara Ann Wallis of Greensboro, NC, Mary Alice Walker and her husband Greg of Lenoir, NC, Janet Ruth Wallis of Wilmington, NC, and Margaret Linda Stell and her husband Brett of Colfax, NC and her precious dog, Whiskey Wagon. She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren and one great grandchild in waiting.

Preceded in death by her husband Jack B. Wallis, Sr., brothers, Jack Gardner, Charles G. Gardner, and Marion Gardner and her sister, Barbara Chamberlain

She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, a founding member of the Fallon Park Garden Club of Raleigh, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 18th from 7pm to 9pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. A graveside service will be held on Saturday February 19th, at 1:00pm at Raleigh Memorial Park.
