David Ernest Ruopp

David Ernest Ruopp, 72, beloved father, grandfather, and husband of 49 years passed peacefully from our physical realm to the eternal surrounded by his loving family and the caring hands of Rex Hospital CICU staff on Friday, May 8th. Dave was born October 4th, 1942 in Danbury, Connecticut, where he was raised surrounded by a large extended family, including many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife Peggy (Voss) Ruopp, daughter Tara, son Jeff of Raleigh, daughter Kristin and son Matthew (wife Maureen) of Baltimore, Maryland and grandchildren Jordan, Ella Grace, Catherine and Margaret. We are deeply grateful for his enduring and steadfast love, generosity and insight.

Dave earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Valparaiso University and went on to work for a number of corporations including Pratt-Whitney Aircraft, American Oil and Polaroid Corporation before establishing FSI Maintenance and Repair in Raleigh.

Viewing hours will be held Tuesday, May 12th from 6pm - 8pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh NC 27605. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, May 13th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7000 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh NC 27613.
