He was predeceased by his brother Douglas S. Sasser, sisters Dorothy Bengel Warwick and Betsy Davis, and infant brother Thomas Neil Sasser. He is survived by his brother Robert H. Sasser, Jr. and sister Becky Hedrick.
He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Debbie Sasser. He is survived by his four children, Carolyn Bost and husband Danny, Donnie Sasser, Stephanie Sasser Blair and Brad Sasser. He adored his 8 grandchildren, Justin Bost, Andrew Bost, Stone Sasser, Tye Sasser, Maci Sasser, Taylor Blair, Charlie Sasser and Davie Sasser. He was their “Papaw Dave”.
He attended UNC Chapel Hill and worked mostly in furniture sales over the years in Raleigh and Charlotte. He also operated a Western Auto Store in Bluefield, WV, where he met Debbie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, with a graveside service to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC .
