She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Bingham, and her sister, Margaret G. Bishop. She is survived by her daughter, Julia
Bingham Southwick of Raleigh; her son, Richard S. Bingham (Elaine) of Wake Forest; and two beloved granddaughters, Jennifer L. Bingham and
Jordan E. Bingham.
"Dottie" was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to many. She dedicated her life to caring for her family. As an elementary school teacher for many
years she was an inspiration to her students. In retirement, she provided the best child care for her granddaughters. She was a long-tme member of
Boone United Methodist Church and, in later years, of Fairmont United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Susannah Wesley Circle.
She loved music and sang along as she was able with friends at Carillon when they visited with her to sing hymns. She also loved flowers and plants and at
one time worked in the floral business of a family friend in Boone.
The family extends sincere thanks and love to the staff at Carillon Assisted Living of Knightdale for their loving and extraordinary care
during the years she lived at Carillon and to Community Home Care and Hospice for their exceptional care in her last weeks.
A memorial service will be held at Fairmont United Methodist Church, 2501 Clark Ave., Raleigh, NC at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairmont United Methodist Church, Music Program, 2501 Clark Ave., Raleigh, NC 27607.
Arrangements by Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Saint Mary's St., Raleigh.
