He is survived by his wife Donna Lee Thornton; his daughters- Karen Ray Thornton (Jimmy McMillan), and Kelly Ann Thornton; his mother Dorothy Lee Thornton; brothers Sherwood Thornton (Charlotte) and Sammie Thornton and sister Kaye Johnson (Stuart). He will also be missed by his nieces Renay, Teresa, Sam, and nephews Junior and Bryan. Eddie was predeceased by his father Alonzo Thornton and his son Kevin Thornton.
Besides being a veteran of the Air Force, Eddie was a dedicated employee at Corning Glass Works/AVX for over 44 years. Most important to him was his family and being a loving father and husband. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday September 3, 2010, Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Briar Creek Memorial Gardens on ACC Boulevard.
