Edith Day Medlin was born in Halifax County, Virginia, to Luna Adele Thaxton Day and Claude Eugene Day on August 13, 1921, and peacefully passed away at Oaks of Mayview on Monday, April 9, 2018. She was a highly respected antiques dealer and interior decorator for forty-five years and left her mark on many homes throughout the southeast. Though Edith had no children of her own, she nurtured and guided several generations of young people through her love of antiques. She was extremely generous with her time, talent and resources throughout her life.
Edith is survived by several beloved nieces and nephews in the South Boston area of Virginia and a host of loving and devoted friends and admirers throughout the country. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, V. C. Medlin, two sisters and seven brothers.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 13, at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum at 2 pm with visitation prior from 1-2 pm.
