Edna Wood Edwards

Edna was a member of New Covenant Life Church in Knightdale. She was known and loved for her friendliness and hospitality. In her younger years, Edna always had a meal cooked for those in need as well as food and fellowship for all who stopped by for a visit.

Along with her parents, Edna is preceded in death by husband, Marvin L. Edwards, daughter, Betty Mason, son, Ralph Edwards, a grandson and 11 siblings. She is survived by 5 daughters, Pearl (Richard) Stevens, June Talton, Sue (Red) Overby, Linda Jenkins, Donna (Larry) Rhodes; two sons, Phil Edwards, Randy (Catherine) Edwards; sister, Frances Brown; 14 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a myriad of friends, by whom she will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday June 4, from 10:00 – 11:00 am, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 am in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their thanks to Barbara and the CNA's of Hospice, for their tenderly caring for our Mother.
