Eleanor Cuthrell Hester, 97, passed away on September 23, 2010. Born in Goldsboro, NC; she was the daughter of the late Daniel Louis and Claudia Applewhite Cuthrell and wife of the late Edward Lee Hester, Jr.
Eleanor retired as Head of the Heart Station at WakeMed, beginning her employment with an EKG machine and a closet as an office. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and the people she worked with.
She is survived by her children: Edward Lee Hester III and wife Patsy, of Apex, Robert Lawrence Hester and wife Barbara, of Winchester, VA, Eleanor White, of Raleigh and Donna Hester, of Buffalo Junction, VA; sister, Claudia Cuthrell, of Goldsboro, NC; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 27th at 11 AM at Mitchell Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. David Hailey of Hayes Barton Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the caring staff of Rex Rehab and Skilled Nursing of Apex, as well as, Hospice of Wake County.
