

Elizabeth (Betsy) Murray Case, 24, died Sunday, August 4, 2013, in Jacksonville, FL as the result of a car accident. She made her home in Savannah, GA, but was a native of Raleigh. Betsy was born on August 29, 1988 to Laura Murray Case and Louis Nathaniel Case II.
She leaves an older sister, Margaret (Maggie) Case Wallis (and husband, Tony) of Falls Church, VA, and a younger brother, Robert (Rob) Grey Case of Raleigh.Full of joy, Betsy passionately loved her family and friends, putting others' needs in front of her own. She was a vibrant spirit and precious daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. Betsy was a beautiful, strong, and confident young woman whose sparkling laughter affected all who knew her. Betsy's originality was evident in all that she touched. Her creations were inspired by the simplicity of nature and the elegance of art. She graduated from Needham Broughton High School in 2006 and attended Savannah College of Art and Design where she majored in fashion design.
Betsy was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Elwyn Grey Murray, Jr., and her paternal grandparents, Raymond Hastings & Anna Elizabeth Long Case. In addition to her immediate family, Betsy is survived by her maternal grandmother, Anna Rae Johnson Murray of Rose Hill, NC, Aunt Llew Ann Murray King (and husband, Matt) of Brentwood,TN, Aunt Caroline Murray McMahon (and husband, Tim) of Raleigh, Uncle Elwyn Murray III (and wife, Wendy) of Middleburg, VA, and Uncle Edward Case (and wife, Nancy Rae) of Vienna, VA, along with many loving cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, August 8, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, St. Mary's St., Raleigh.
A memorial service will be at 11am on Friday, August 9, at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1704 Oberlin Road, Raleigh,with the family receiving friends and relatives in the Jane Bell Gathering Space at the church afterwards. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Memorial Presbyterian Church, www.whitememorial.org.
