Throughout high school, Libby excelled at music and was a superb flutist in the concert and marching bands. Both Libby and her sister, Wanda, were inspired by their band director, Mr. Richard Wilson, who encouraged and fostered their musical talents. After leaving high school, she married her first love and high school sweetheart, David Prince.
Soon after graduation, Libby became a flight attendant with Piedmont Airlines and went on to spend her entire career in the airline industry. In addition to her loving parents and sister, Wanda, she had lifelong love, support, and friendship from the Prince Family. Libby’s beauty was matched only by her laughter and bubbly personality. She was a joy to be around and was admired for her thoughtfulness and self-sacrificing nature. In addition to her loving family, Libby treasured her beloved dogs. The compassionate treatment of pets was a cause near and dear to Libby’s heart. In addition to her own dogs, Libby fostered numerous mistreated and neglected pets.
Libby was known for her elegant style, love of music and the beach, Thanksgiving casseroles and the best Christmas gifts for everyone. Libby’s character was always defined by her brave spirit which allowed her to overcome many obstacles in life. Libby was loved dearly by her friends and family. We will miss her always.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Bill; niece and nephew, Amy and husband Jim and Dexter and wife Michelle; great nieces and nephews, Caroline, James, Steven and Lily. Libby was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda.
A graveside service for her friends and family was held on July 19, 2021, at 3:30pm at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, North Carolina.
