Ethel Medlin May

Ethel was preceded in death by her husbands, the late James Edward Tyson, Sr. (Nell), of Raleigh and the late Harry Parks May, of Haywood, NC; sisters, Margaret Lee Wilder and Barbara Jean Williams; and brother, William Alton Medlin.

She is remembered by her three children: James Edward Tyson, Jr. (Charlotte), Bruce Tyson (Brenda) and Donna Tetrault; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ethel worked many years for the State of North Carolina and retired from Carteret Community College. She continued her career at Beckanna Apartments in Raleigh. Ethel also resided at Beckanna for 30 plus years and made many friends there.

The family wishes to thank her friends and caregivers at Pruitt this last year and at Beckanna where she was a part of the Lounge Lizards.

Private Services will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to an animal shelter in memory of Ethel and her love of dogs.
