

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Stowe and husband, Josh of Wilmington; father, Frank E. Strehle, Sr.; brothers, Donald Strehle, Stephen Strehle; step-son, Stephen Brent Kennedy; and also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Thelma Strehle.
He was a 1972 graduate of Clemson University , a member of the dive team, he played football at Denbigh High School, was 1st chair trumpet player in the band and also accomplished on the wrestling team. His family time was so important. He enjoyed time at the beach and was often found with a fishing pole in hand!
Frank enjoyed his career as a mechanical engineer. Frank dedicated 43 1/2 years of service to Duke Energy Progress. He began his career in 1972 in the Quality Assurance Department as a QA Specialist, while there he assumed various roles and in 2010 remained in the role of Lead Engineer until his retirement on January 1, 2016. He was also recently recognized as an outstanding contributor to the recently published "Guideline for the Acceptance of Commercial-Grade Items in Nuclear Safety-Related Applications" for EPRI.
Frank was a huge CLEMSON fan & those attending the funeral are encouraged to wear orange, purple or both colors in his memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Clemson University Foundation, P.O. Box 1889, Clemson, S.C. 29633 for the Frank E. Strehle Holding Account.
