Mr. O’Connor was a Korean War veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He joined IBM in 1956. He played a major role in IBM’s planning and development of communications-based systems. He retired from IBM in 1990 after 35 years of service.
Mr. O’Connor is survived by his wife, Susan Flowers O’Connor; his daughter, Catherine Mary Davis; his son, Daniel Joseph O’Connor and wife Rita; his step-daughter Jacquelynn Spivey and husband Andy; and granddaughters Samantha Spivey and Justice Laarman.
He was predeceased by sisters Eileen Osorno and Jeanne Dunne and brother John O’Connor.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
