Jim was an US Air Force veteran who served in Europe near the end of the Korean war.
After returning home to Durham, he relocated with his family to Fayetteville to work in outside sales with NCR. In 1972, Jim moved his family to Pinehurst. In addition to being very active in the community and serving as a volunteer fireman, it was during this time that he also discovered his love of golf which he continued to play into his 80's. Jim pursued a decades long career in the heating and air conditioning business in an outside sales position serving heating and cooling contractors in North Carolina.
In addition to golf, he loved music, food and especially people. Jim was well liked by all who knew him, and he truly never met a stranger.
