John proudly served in the US Air Force, retiring after 20 years of faithful service. For 17 years, he worked for Hardees as a regional manager all around North Carolina. Most recently, he worked for 7 years as a prison official in the North Carolina Department of Corrections. John loved spending time working on his yard, and made sure it was always immaculate.
John is survived by his five children, Patricia Neal Henningsen, Edward Keith Presnell (Marie), Robert Weldon Presnell, Cathy Diane Burchette (Dennis) and Cindy Presnell; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Hord (Jack); precious loving companion, Bullet; and spouse, Frances Greene Presnell. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine Presnell; sister, Jewell Ramsey; grandson, Mackinley Hardison; and granddaughter, Laura Freeman.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 16 from 6:00-8:00pm, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC, with a funeral service being held at Mitchell Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow services at Raleigh Memorial Park.
