John Wellington Tucker Jr.

Born on November 10, 1942 in Middlesex, Connecticut he was the son of John Wellington Tucker, Sr., and Mary Sadler Tucker.

John was a great family man and loved spending time with them and especially teasing the grandchildren. He had a hobby and a passion of researching and following the stock market. He was an avid reader of the Economist magazine and would read it cover to cover. John also found great enjoyment as a weekend gardener. He knew the names of all the plants and trees that grew in his yard.

John was predeceased by his father John Wellington Tucker, Sr. and his mother Mary Sadler Tucker. He is survived by his two sons John W. Tucker, III and wife Sarah of San Francisco, CA; Bram Tucker and wife Laura Williams of Athens, GA; his daughter Kara Mitchell and husband Christopher of Raleigh, NC; his brother Jerry and wife Nancy Tucker of Medway, Mass; and grandchildren Addy, Gus, Kate and Jack; and many other loving family members and friends.

The family wishes to thank the offices of Doctors Agrawal and Reilly with the Cancer Center of NC and their staff, also the staff and volunteers with Transitions LifeCare for their outstanding care.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC, 27607 and St. Francis of Assisi “Justice and Peace Fund” 11401 Leesville Rd. Raleigh, NC 27613.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Saturday September 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will follow the Mass in the Fellowship Hall.
