Born in England in 1933, June was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elsie Yeldham and loving sister to Joyce, Les (and his wife Greta), and Gloria.
June and her husband, David, daughter, Julie and son, Richard came to the United States in 1966. David's temporary work transfer culminated in June and David spending their remaining life living in Raleigh.
June had an inexhaustible spirit that touched so many lives with her love of family, cooking, sports, and her native England. Everyone she met was greeted with a "Hello luv" and were immediately caught up in her infectious nature and invited to her home with a promise of one of her famous meals.
A passionate sports fan, especially soccer, June supported and cheered on many of Raleigh's young (and old) players of her son, Richard's soccer establishment, XL Soccer World. She spent the last 20 years getting up every Sunday morning to host impromptu "kick-arounds" at XL where she will be sorely missed.
June lived for her family, especially her grandsons, Evan and Sean. Their relationship was one of June's greatest joys and highlight of her life.
June leaves behind a multitude of grieving friends. Her loving spirit will never be forgotten by her family who have beautiful memories of a wonderful Mum, Nana, and sister. June was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband of 53 years, David and leaves behind daughter, Julie McCann and husband Johnny, son, Richard and wife Jasmin, grandsons, Evan and Sean McCann and step-grandsons, Len Barnes and Rev. James Ty.
A service will be held Sunday, August 2 at 2:00pm with burial to follow, at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC. The family will receive guests one hour prior. A Celebration of Life will follow the services from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Vic's Ristorante Italiano at 331 Blake Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.
