Kathryn Knudson Totty, affectionately known as "Kay", 87, passed away on August 19, 2011 at Rex Hospital. Born on July 3, 1924 in Iowa; she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mildred Airy Knudson. Kay graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Home Economics and Household Equipment. She was employed as a range tester with Hot Point following her graduation.
She was a 50 year member of Kappa Delta, an avid gardener, especially her roses, collector of blue stretch glass and ceramic cats and enjoyed reading. Kay and her husband of 64 years, Stuart relocated from Toledo, Ohio in 2008 and had been members of Hope Lutheran Church in Toledo.
Kay is survived by her husband; son, Jim Totty and wife Susan, of Harrisonburg, VA; daughter, Sue Davis and husband Mark, of Broomfield, CO; grandchildren, Bryan Totty and Christopher and Alexandria Davis; sister, Janet Sinclair and husband Delbert, of Bradenton, FL; and nephew, Max Sinclair and wife Kelli and their daughter Karina.
A Memorial Service will be held at Brighton Gardens on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
