

Lee Edward Hyatt, 65, passed away suddenly after a brief battle with cancer on June 26, 2016 at Rex Hospital. Born on April 21, 1951 in Asheville, NC; he was the son of Dorothy Kanipe Hyatt and the late Carl B. Hyatt. Lee graduated from Lee Edwards High School and Western Carolina University. His career in training and technical writing included working with CP&L for 24 years, GlaxoSmithKline, Matrix Resources, Timely Text, CIBER, Inc., EMC, Alphanumeric Systems, Spectraforce Technologies, and most recently at Blue Cross Blue Shield.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pamela Harrington Hyatt, of Raleigh; daughter: Natalie Hyatt; his mother, Dorothy K. Hyatt, of Asheville; sister: Sarah and Michael McFee, of Asheville; mother-in-law: Betty C. Harrington and the late Bobby Ray Harrington, of Raleigh; brother-in-law: Todd and Ann Harrington, of Mooresville; nieces and nephews: Willie and Veronica Coin and family, Erin and Jessie Moffitt and family, Olivia and Blake Bowen and family, Scott Harrington and fiancé Katy Burnette, Lori Harrington and Seth Harrington; and by other family and friends, including his uncle: W. Coleman and Bobbi Hyatt.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue). Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11 am at Providence Baptist Church (6339 Glenwood Avenue), with interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the Worship Ministry at Providence Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
