Lorraine Eleanor Dilger (Ma) of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully on the morning of June 15, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare. Lorraine was born to the late Homer and Yvonne Conklin on May 15, 1936 in Port Jervis, NY. Lorraine graduated from the New York Foundling Hospital, School of Infant Care Technicians, on February 12, 1956. She worked at various hospitals in Pennsylvania and New York caring for infants.
Lorraine is survived by her four daughters: DaLaine Meyers, husband Clifford, and their children, Joshua, Elizabeth Cranfill (Paul), and Rachel (fiancee Ben); Lori Benicase, husband Jeff, and their daughter Brittany Zeck (Michael); Darlene Dilger and her daughter Shantel; Sherri Elginbehi (Samer) and their children Alyssa, Austin and Sara. Lorraine is predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, David (Rip) Dilger.
Lorraine adored her family above all and will be dearly missed. She loved spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, shopping and Paul Newman movies.
A Memorial service celebrating Lorraine's life was held at Mitchell Funeral Home, on Saturday, June 19. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Lorraine Eleanor Dilger to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
