

Dr. Marvin Kenneth Beute, 91, passed on April 19, 2026, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on March 3, 1935 in Jennison, Michigan; he was the son of the late Martin Beute and Jeanette DeVries Beute and was the husband of the late Sherlene Russell Beute (February 2021).
Dr. Beute was a distinguished professor in the Department of Plant Pathology at North Carolina State University (NCSU), recognized for his significant contributions to the study and management of peanut diseases.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter: Dana B. Townley and husband Jeffrey, of Raleigh; grandchildren: Derek and Kristen Beute, Daniel and Alexandria Beute, Jennifer and Randy Tyner, Harrison Townley, Katelyn and Craig Cardone and Jessica and Cole Ford; great-grandchildren: Oakley Tyner, Mattie Tyner, Romee Cardone, Kayce Beute, Hallie Beute and Wyatt Beute ; his brother: Richard Beute; and by other extended family and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sherlene; his son: Douglas Russell Beute (January 2013); and siblings: Lois, Jean, Marilyn and Harvey.
Private Family Services will be held at Kerr Lake, a place held dear by the Beute Family.
