Mary and Lester Walters

Mary F. Walters, 92, of Raleigh, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Hospice Home at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh. Born August 29, 1924, she was preceded in death by her parents Frances Nowak Figas and Frank Figas, several siblings, her son-in-law Frank Cameron, and her great granddaughter McKenna Ward.

She was a homemaker, babysat for several grandchildren, and worked at Roses Store in the earlier part of her life.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Lester Walters, and her sister, Bernice Russ of Wausaukee, WI. She left her legacy of 7 children: Ronald Walters (Bernie), Sharon Long, Shirley Westbrook (Hubert), Ann Marie Bullock (Jessie), Doreen Cameron (Lamar Bishop), Patricia Bunn (Albert), Christina Sanderford (Ed), plus 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation 10 am and Funeral Mass 11am on Thursday, October 27 both held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in the St. Mary’s Chapel on Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home at Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh NC 27607.

Lester B. Walters, 94, of Raleigh, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield NC. Born April 27, 1923, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary F. Walters, parents Henry and Amy Walters, several siblings, his son-in-law Frank Cameron, and his great granddaughter McKenna Ward. He was one of 7 children and retired from Southern Builders and Koppers as a wood working craftsman.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Walters (Caroline) of Crivitz, WI. He left his legacy of 7 children: Ronald Walters (Bernie), Sharon Long, Shirley Westbrook (Hubert), Ann Marie Bullock (Jessie), Doreen Cameron (Lamar), Patricia Bunn (Albert), Christina Sanderford (Ed), plus 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation 3 pm and Funeral Mass 3:30 pm on Friday, November 3rd both held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in the St. Mary’s Chapel on Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC.
