Maxine Knott Mitchell

Maxine was a longtime member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and was retired from Carolina Power and Light Company, after 39 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Mitchell, her three brothers, Jake, William Henry, and Cedric Knott and by her two sisters Kathleen Early and Anah Lee Richardson. Maxine is survived by her sister, Mae Denton, her brother Chesley Knott and his wife Judy of Raleigh; stepsons, Craig Mitchell of Raleigh, and Tracy Mitchell, Jr. of Ashtabula, OH and stepdaughter Mary Efantis of Kingsville, OH. Maxine loved them all dearly. She will also be missed by three grandchildren, Chad Efantis, Jared Efantis, and Amanda Addair, and two great grandchildren Nathan and Kylee Addair.

The family will receive friends on Friday February 18th, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 19th, at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 201 Dixie Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.
