Mertie Cooper Bryan

Mertie was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a long time and active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a teacher for a brief period in her life, before deciding to stay at home and raise her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her late husband of 66 years, Odell Sheldon Bryan who died in 2012. Surviving is her beloved daughter, Dawn Bryan Hartley and husband Barron Kevin Hartley, of Knightdale; her two brothers, Fulton Cooper and Jessie Cooper, and a sister, Ernestine Kerling. She is also survived by her grandson, Bryan Keith Hartley and great- granddaughter, Sophia Brooke Hartley.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 29th from 3-5pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary’s St. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 30th at 11am at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
